Born in Houston, built on a comeback — the Vince Young Foundation is what happens when a champion decides his second act matters more than his first.
Vince's story
Vince Young grew up in Houston's Hiram Clarke neighborhood, raised by his mother Felicia and his grandmother. Football took him from those streets to the University of Texas, where on January 4, 2006, he played the greatest Rose Bowl anyone had ever seen — 467 total yards and the game-winning touchdown with 19 seconds left to beat USC for the national championship.
Three months later he was the No. 3 pick in the NFL Draft. He was Offensive Rookie of the Year. He made two Pro Bowls. And then — publicly, painfully — it came apart. The pressure, the isolation, the money, the people who disappeared when the cameras did. He tells that whole story in Netflix's Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young, because he believes kids need the truth more than they need another highlight reel.
What brought him back wasn't a trophy. It was the people who stayed — starting with his mother. That's the foundation in one sentence: be the people who stay.
The road so far

2005
National champion. Leads Texas past USC 41–38 in the Rose Bowl with 467 total yards — MVP of back-to-back Rose Bowls, Heisman runner-up.
2006
No. 3 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans. NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowl selection.
2006
The foundation begins. Vince and his mother Felicia start giving back to the Houston community that raised him.
2008
No. 10 retired by the Texas Longhorns.
2009
Second Pro Bowl after leading the Titans back from an 0–6 start.
2011–17
The hard years. Out of the league, out of money, out of the spotlight — the part of the story most people never heard until now.
2018–19
Hall of Famer, twice. Inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, then the College Football Hall of Fame.

Untold: The Testimony of Vince Young premieres on Netflix — a Top 5 film in the U.S. its debut week.
The foundation today
The Vince Young Foundation is a Houston-born 501(c)(3) nonprofit, co-founded by Vince and his mother Felicia. Since 2006 it has put its energy where Vince's story started: kids growing up with big dreams and long odds.
From the signature Community Unity Fun Day to school partnerships and youth camps, the work runs through three initiatives.
